Diva Restaurant opened its doors in September of 2000 after owner, Jim Zaleski, noticed a void in Toledo’s fine dining market. Having been a previous resident of both New York and Los Angeles, Jim had developed a taste for urban decor, and contemporary fine cuisine. He decided to bring this big city feel back to his home town of Toledo, and Diva was born.

Jim found the perfect location for his new project, in the heart of downtown Toledo. With no more than rough brick walls and a dirt floor to work with, Mr. Zaleski transformed the space into an aesthetically pleasing urban retreat. He retained the rough brick and added a beautiful hardwood floor, stainless steel bar, highback leather booths and banquette and a coved ceiling. Additionally, Diva's three floors have showcased the works of unnumberable artists over the past six years, adding to the ever evolving Diva experience.

In June of 2005, Executive Chef Erika Rapp decided to return to Toledo as well, further strengthening the team at Diva. A CIA grad, Erika previously was a chef in New York, Chicago and Dallas. Erika brings an eclectic flair to her cuisine, drawing inspiration from international influences. She changes the menu seasonally, using only the freshest, finest ingredients, from local proveyors whenever possible.
